Rebecca Smith, LMT, LLCC
Rebecca began working in health and fitness as a certified personal trainer, Pilates instructor, and movement educator with a focus on movement re-education and injury prevention shortly after moving to New York City.
Rebecca studied CranioSacral Therapy (Upledger Institute), Lymph Drainage Therapy (Chikly Institute), Human Dissection with Gil Hedley at UMDNJ, and Lymphedema Therapy with Renee Romero (Lymphedema Institute of America).
In 2011, Rebecca joined NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center’s Integrative Health team as a Senior Massage Therapist and Senior Lymphatic Therapist, providing massage to cancer patients while they received chemotherapy infusions, as well as Lymph Therapy and CranioSacral Therapy treatments.
In 2014, she was a founding faculty member and collaborator in the initial creation of the Oncology Massage Training Program before it partnered with the Center for Advancement of Therapeutic Arts (CATA) in New York City, and served as the program’s Oncology Studio Director overseeing procedures and protocols.
She joined Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Integrative Medicine Service in 2016 as a specialty therapist addressing lymphedema, post-mastectomy pain syndrome, axillary web syndrome, radiation fibrosis, and post-mantle field sequelae.
In 2020, she and Felicia Newsome founded Advanced Massage Specialty Group, Inc. and Rebecca returned to private practice, founding Body Craft Massage Therapy, PLLC.
Rebecca holds a B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and an Associates Degree in Occupational Sciences from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences. She is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist, a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (LLCC), and a National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork recognized Oncology Massage Specialist.
